PBP would withdraw UK troops from Afghanistan and would cancel the Trident replacement.
Recent political movements in the Middle East and elsewhere show that it is time for the UK to stop being a part of the imposition of governments on people who are now determined to reclaim their political destiny.
We do not need oppressive governments to be our allies in war after war, because we don't need those wars. We would seek access to oil in the Middle East and elsewhere only with the consent of the people at a fair price, not through alliances with governments which are oppressing and exploiting their people.
This would be a lot cheaper in the long run than the instability and resentment that is resulting from our current foreign policy, not to mention the cost in lives and the cost of the bombs and missiles.
War makes arms dealers rich and diverts attention from the problems and inequality in society. Lucrative contracts for 'rebuilding' are doled out afterwards. A "win-win" for big business - death, misery and destruction for people like us!
